We’ve been finding morel mushrooms on the farm like crazy!!!
Everyday for the last couple of weeks we’ve been finding about a hat full (see picture above!) of mushrooms!
Which means they’ve pretty much become a staple in our diet… at least while we keep finding them 🙂
We even included them in the Mother’s Day Brunch we hosted. And they were of course a hit!
If you’ve never had morel mushrooms, then you need to try this recipe. It’s very easy and gets deliciously, golden fried mushrooms on your plate in minutes 🙂
All you need are: morels, flour, butter, and salt.
First, clean the mushrooms by halving them and soaking them in lukewarm salt water for no longer then an hour. Rinse with cool water.
Next, coat the mushrooms in flour. For 3 cups of mushrooms, I use about 1 cup of flour.
Over medium-high heat, melt 2 Tbs butter in a frying pan.
Once butter has melted, add mushrooms. Depending on how mushrooms you have this may have to be done in batches.
Turn mushrooms over after 2 minutes. Keep turning until mushrooms are golden-brown and crispy.
Place cooked mushrooms on a plate with paper towel and sprinkle with salt to taste.
Enjoy! Let us know how yours turned out – or if your family has a favorite way to use morel mushrooms!
